So I threw EVERYTHING I could think of to communicate we WOULD close, my client LOVED this property and that I was a consummate professional! I mean, that’s my job, right? :)

That isn’t to say I’m bragging. This is about being utterly grateful + grounded in my blessings. This is about grabbing life by the tail + seeking adventure + remaining eternally curious + building relationships with people who “get you”. This is about teaching yourself something about yourself; like how to cook a certain catch of fish or how to tie a sailing knot.

This week I saw @davidbyrneofficial at the @sbbowl which was nothing less than epic as the SpaceX rocket flew overhead while he was singing. I couldn’t believe I was there; that this was really happening. It was utterly surreal!

Squeezed in a visit with my favorite youngest son Sam at @dartcoffeeco overlooking the Santa Barbara Harbor on a glorious morning.

Did some bougee shopping @thepostmontecito + lunched @clarksoysterbar with an old friend.

Handed keys to an Equestrian friend (turned client) giving her access to her new/old home-the coolest mid-century modern house on the biggest lot! Can’t wait to see what she does with the place! Congratulations girl!

Took some amazing photos with a very talented photographer/friend @nicolecaldwellphoto

Introduced an artist/friend to the world of sailing @alamitosbayyc @kharacoultier

Attended an amazing South African Tasting @thewinecountry

Also just sat in my backyard + watching the butterflies & the hummingbirds & my dog named Goose 🪿 chase them all the way!

Cooked some amazing things on my 110 year-old vintage stove. Just for myself..

The Gods came together perfectly on Saturday. My family used to go to Catalina on Easter vacation when we were kids I have very fond memories of that time in my life.

Saturday morning I text my brother; “When do I get to see your new boat!? We are supposed to be in Avalon-it’s Easter weekend!”

He called me right away. He was on his way to the boat! He said “I have to put some gas in her. Do you want to go for a harbor cruise?”
I hopped in the car immediately and met him having no idea we were going to spontaneously go sailing for several hours!

First we gassed up + then we decided to go out! The wind started out at about 9 kn and picked up to 30 kn!

It was very sporty + the weather so perfect I did not even need a sweater.

We almost kissed 💋Catalina Island as the conditions were so perfect we kept going-like we were sailing on a cloud!☁️

I have never in all my years of living in Southern California sailed out of Los Angeles Yacht Club. I grew up sailing out of Newport Harbor. The contrast is insane! Los Angeles Harbor is bustling with cargo ships + tugboats + cruise ships in a port so filled with history & architecture! All of this I’ve seen from land many times, but the perspective on the water is everything!

What a blessing this day was!
